For over 50 years, the attorneys at Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz has been actively involved in the communities where we live and work. We’ve proudly donated our time and resources for the benefit of many worthy organizations along with donating public service announcements supporting local schools and athletes. These organizations include:
From accepting pro bono cases to coaching youth teams to working with the physically challenged, Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz attorneys and staff proudly contribute to the enrichment of the towns and cities of Southwest Florida. This year our attorneys participated in Read Across America, dedicating their time to read to school children in their classes. They also participated in National Constitution Day, helping to educate children on the importance of the rights, privileges, and responsibilities in the United States Constitution.
Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz sponsored a special television program airing on September 12, 2009 on NBC-2 called “DUI: Beyond the Ticket.” The program was designed to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving. It also demonstrated the importance of parents talking to their teenage children about underage drinking and impaired driving with a Parent-Teen Safe Driving Contract. This contract was not drafted by Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz, P.A. However, some may find it useful, simply as an icebreaker for discussion and general information when trying to talk to teenagers on the sensitive topic of alcohol and drugs.
In January 2013, Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz sponsored a ‘no texting and driving’ campaign called www.putthephonedown.org. The website, www.putthephonedown.org , outlines statistics on distracted driving all over the country and its effects on drivers. Also revealed are national programs and laws centered on distracted driving—the results are disturbing. We post to the website www.putthephonedown.org with current materials and links related to distracted driving so our community continuously sees the dangers of texting and driving.
