Question:
What does it cost to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit in Southwest Florida?
Answer:
We had a lady who lost her husband, and she came to us and said, “This is a wrongful death case, but I don’t have the money to pay you.” We told that lady that she doesn’t ever need to do that. You don’t pay us up front; we sign a contingency fee contract, which means that you never owe us a penny unless we recover for you, and that recovery is received once we settle the case for you, so there’s never any out-of-pocket money that’s paid by you.
The answer to whether there’s any cost involved up front is no; you never pay us a penny. That includes if we’re doing an investigation into how the accident happened and we need to hire investigators or accident reconstruction experts; that’s not something we ask you to pay, either. That’s a cost that the law firm pays, and then it’s recouped at the end through the settlement.
If you have a wrongful death case, don’t be scared off by thinking you’re going to have to pay an attorney a bunch of money up front. That’s not required. It’s a contingency fee contract, so we do not get any money unless we recover for you. We never ask you for any money up front, so please feel free to call us and consult with us. We’d be happy to handle your case.

You need to hire the appropriate attorney that can handle the case, that has an understanding of the value of the case and has the assets to be able to push that case forward and fight the insurance company, and or firm has that.
We’ve been around for nearly 60 years. Our law firm handles these sort of cases all the time. We have board-certified civil trial attorneys who try wrongful death cases, and the insurance companies know that. The number one thing is to understand that because there is substantial value in wrongful death cases, the insurance company is likely going to try to beat you down. We don’t let that happen when we’re involved in a case. If you’ve lost a loved one and you have a wrongful death case, we’d be happy to consult with you and happy to help you in that regard. Please feel free to reach out to us.
