Dangerous Interstates in America

Everquote Auto Insurance Company recently analyzed interstates across America. Their analysis used data ranging from 2010 through 2015 from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Fatality Analysis Report System. From there they were able to determine the fatality rates based on the length of the highway. Their results show that three of the most deadliest interstates run through the state of Florida.

  •  Interstate 4 which runs from Tampa to Daytona Beach, Florida is ranked as #1 in the 10 Deadliest Interstates in America. This Interstate is 132 miles in length and connects I-275 to I-95. It has been in the top 10 for 6 years with 1.41 fatalities per mile.
  • Interstate 95 which runs from Miami Florida to Houlton, Maine is ranked at #5 and has been in the top 10 for the past 6 years. This Interstate is 1926 miles with 0.89 fatalities per mile.
  •  Interstate 10 which runs from Jacksonville, Florida to Santa Monica California, ranks at #7. This is the longest interstate on the list with 2460 miles. It has 0.85 fatalities per mile and has also been on the top 10 list for the past 6 years.
