Wrongful Death

A “wrongful death” occurs when a person dies as the result of his or her injuries.  A person who loses his or her life due to the fault or negligence of another is the innocent victim of a "wrongful death."  In other words, any death that results from injuries caused by the negligence of another is a wrongful death.  Florida law recognizes that great harm is done to others when a person dies due to negligent conduct. Florida’s “Wrongful Death Act” is designed to require compensation to a deceased victim’s estate and survivors.

Wrongful death claims arise out of car accidents, motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, property negligence, and other incidents of negligence.

For the surviving spouse, children and parents, no loss is more painful or tragic.  If you lose a loved one due to a wrongful death, you and other family members may be eligible for damages for losses, such as loss of future wages, medical expenses prior to death, and loss of companionship.

GBCR&P handles all aspects of a wrongful death claim, from the opening of the estate through the settlement or trial of the case.
